Sanitation facilities for girl students in village schools.
Nestlé believes that education and empowerment of girl students can benefit the quality of life in communities. Therefore in order to promote Universal Primary Education and ensure availability of basic sanitation facilities, Nestlé India has been sponsoring the construction of sanitation facilities (toilets) for girl students in village schools across all its factory locations.
Through this initiative, Nestlé endeavours to facilitate and remove what is considered to be the major cause of dropout rate among girl students in the village schools.
So far, Nestlé has built over 300 sanitation facilities across India benefitting over 80900 girl students.
Hygiene is a way of life. It is the quality of living that is expressed in a clean home, clean neighbourhood and clean community. Nestlé India Limited has provided a sanitation facility to the students of our school. We are all very happy and feel comfortable using the sanitation facility.
