Nestlé R&D Centre, India was set up in Manesar, Gurgaon in 2012. R&D Manesar serves as a Global Innovation Hub for noodles and spices. It leverages its scientific and culinary expertise, to drive the innovation of tasty, nutritious and affordable products to support both local and global markets. It is a state-of-the-art facility with pilot lines for product development, creative kitchens, consumer insight and sensory labs, extensive laboratory facilities for quality assurance and food safety, as well as a regional R+D Accelerator. The R&D Centre supports operations across 11 factories and 13 markets.

The Regional Accelerator
The regional Accelerator at R&D India was established in 2021 to pursue 'beyond the core' multi-category product innovations. The Accelerator helps bring the best of global R&D knowledge to the region, helping to fast track innovation in close collaboration with the market. It also engages with the external innovation ecosystem in the region by partnering with academia, local startups and strategic partners to drive ‘outside in’ innovation

Nestlé Food Safety Institute

Nestlé Food Safety Institute (NFSI) was set up in 2017 at the R&D Centre, India to build food safety capabilities in the region and to adopt a holistic and collaborative approach towards ensuring safe food for consumers. As a local interface of Nestlé’s global food safety science capabilities, the institute leverages Nestlé’s expertise in food safety and collaborates with external stakeholders to drive new scientific research partnerships in the country. It plays a key role in engaging with concerned stakeholders to share knowledge and information on emerging food safety issues and support development of a science based policy framework.
