Nestlé India Participates In Make In India Week

The ‘ Make In India Week 2016’ organized by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra, aims to highlight India as a favourable investment destination for global players. Considered to be one of the largest business expo hosted by the country, the event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi who toured the 3km-long, MMRDA grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai on Saturday February 13, 2016. Several state dignitaries including the Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley later took a tour of the complex and visited the FMCG Hall where the Nestlé India Pavilion has been set up.

For Nestlé India, this is an opportunity to showcase our contribution to India’s growth and development for over a century and to remain a committed partner living by the ideals of ‘Make In India’. As we celebrate 150 years globally, our pavilion narrates the Nestlé India story of commitment for over 100 years. Our manufacturing excellence and focus on quality and safety with an emphasis on research and development has been demonstrated through interactive video screens and short films. Creating Shared Value that forms the core of our business principles are being showcased through interactive demonstration of Nestlé in Society initiatives. It was our privilege to have with us, our community partners, a farmer couple from Ludhiana, Punjab, representatives of MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child and Magic Bus India Foundation, who spoke about their partnership with Nestlé India.

According to Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India, the ‘Make in India’ initiative will re-instate confidence in the manufacturing sector in India. With companies like Nestlé which have been doing business in India for long, this is a story to tell about the opportunities the country provides to investors and prospects of a collaborative approach with the government in the interest of the country’s development and growth.
