Boost to School Hygiene in East Godavari district as Nestlé India Installs Sanitation Facilities; Inaugurated by Shri Kandula Durgesh, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh

In an attempt to improve access to basic sanitation facilities, Nestlé India has aided the installation of sanitation facilities (toilets) for girl students in four schools in the East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. The sanitation facilities were inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Tourism and Culture, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Kandula Durgesh. The 15 units of sanitation facilities across these four schools will positively impact more than 1550 girl students in the district.

In 2025-26, Nestlé India has helped install 84 sanitation facilities across 25 schools in Kanikada, Tenali, Guntur and East Godavari districts in Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad, Karimnagar and Hanamkonda districts in Telangana. These facilities have positively impacted more than 8200 students across these districts.

In 2017, Nestlé India started the initiative of setting up sanitation facilities in government schools across 11 states and so far, has set up 430 facilities benefitting more than 150,000 girl students.
