With reference to the news item "Nestlé lines up Rs 100 crore investment in dairy segment" appearing in a leading financial daily, Nestlé India Ltd has informed BSE that the amount of Rs 1000 million is not only for the dairy segment but is a broad indication, based on past investments made, of the possible total Company investment in all sectors of its business such as Production, Information Technology, Distribution etc.
The Company has further informed that the Company has entered into businesses like bottled water, Chilled dairy including Dahi and Nestlé UHT Milk, which require sustained marketing support. The figure as stated in the article is a broad and general estimate and actual expenses will depend on the dynamic and competitive environment and the business requirements.
