JALJEERA (Spicy Lemon Drink)

Water |
1 litre, chilled |
|
Sugar, powdered |
125 g |
|
Fresh Lemon Juice |
5-6 tbsp. (50 ml) |
|
Salt |
2 tsp. |
|
Mint Leaves (15-20, ground to a paste) or Mint Paste (1 tbsp) |
|
Roasted Cumin Powder |
1-½ tsp |
|

Method |

Dissolve sugar in 1 litre water. |

Mix in the lemon juice, salt, mint paste and cumin powder. |

Leave it to chill further or serve with ice cubes. |

Soda (chilled) |
300 ml (2 cups) |
|
Mango squash |
4 tbsp |
|
Orange squash |
4 tbsp |
|
Sugar, powdered |
4 tsp |

Lemon juice |
2 tsp |
|
Ginger juice |
2 tsp |

Method |

Mix together the squashes, lemon juice, ginger juice and powdered sugar. |

Divide equally into two glasses. |

Add chilled soda and serve immediately. |

Note : Ginger juice is prepared by grating the ginger and then squeezing it in a lemon squeezer. |

Mix 2-3 tbsp of orange squash with ½ cup water and some mint leaves. Set it for freezing in an ice tray and use these colourful cubes to serve the punch. |
